Ask 10 people what they think of when you say "camping", and you're likely to get 10 different answers.

For some, there's nothing like pulling into a site with a six-ton RV complete with satellite TV and fast Internet access. The other side of the spectrum is "make-shifting" - all the way up from Georgia on the Appalachian Trail with just a backpack and a tarp.

Most likely you're probably somewhere between these two extremes. But there's good news for everyone when it comes to camping in the Poconos - there are a lot of campgrounds here, and you're bound to find more than a few that you'd swear were there just for you.

Camping and Campgrounds Guide

Suumer Camping Season is coming to an end soon, don't delay.

The natural spender that graces the Poconos is best enjoyed by becoming a part of it. Camping offers exactly that kind of experience. Many campgrounds have stunning views of rivers, stream and lakes - not to mention big sky outdoors.

The Poconos is really a great place to go camping. Covering an area about one and half times larger than the State of Rhode Island (yes, the Poconos is that big), you'll find most of the region is just the way it was 200 years ago.

State & Federal Parks offer many sites and facilities available to campers - some primitive, but many with hookups and creature comforts - not to mention some gorgeous settings, access to some of the largest lakes and rivers in Pennsylvania.

Certainly not to be overshadowed, there are a large number of private campgrounds that are open to the public and warrant a close look. Many campgrounds have small cabins available for those looking for the next step.

And to think that all of this - seemingly a million miles from nowhere - is just two hours from most of New York City and Philadelphia. So, check out all the great campgrounds in the Poconos and get a big gulp of fresh air.

How to use this site:

Just below here you'll find a list of all the campgrounds in the Poconos - all of them. Click on a link, and it will take you to page about the campground. There you'll find phone number, address and url.

But, if you look above here, just below the ads from Google, be sure to click on the tab that says "Featured" -there you'll see a list of campgrounds with much more information - including the very important ratings that people have given. Also make sure with each campground you check the "discussion" tab. People leave comments there as well as a rating.

Camping in the Poconos

So, if you want to go camping, pitch a tent, park your RV or Pop-up, then you've come to the right place to find the perfect spot in the Poconos for your camping adventure.

Camping is fun for everyone - families and couples can enjoy the great outdoors in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania - and it's very affordable. Each day is a new adventure, filled with a wide range of activities for everyone. From rafting and hiking to bird watching and mountain biking.

Awaken to the aroma of breakfast cooking in the great outdoors and gather around the picnic table and plan the day's activities. So much to choose from, so little time. Shall we go hiking or bike riding, fishing or boating, paddleboats might be fun. Many of our campgrounds offer this and much more.

Recreational activities range from individual preferences to family oriented fun. Most campgrounds have theme-weekends that include parties, group games and family gatherings. A central clubhouse for games, crafts, movies and other posted events is usually near the playground.

Want to pitch a tent? Maybe a pop-up or an RV is better suited to your family needs. Maybe camping in "remote" regions is your style. Whatever you're looking for, the Poconos is sure to have it. Choose a little piece of heaven's sky. Bask in the warmth of the sun or enjoy the cooling breeze that gently surrounds you in the shade of a wooded campsite. Listen to the sounds of the forest; get in touch with the beauty of nature

Watch the flickering flames of the campfire, roast marshmallows, talk awhile, hug awhile, make plans for the next day, sing some songs. Get a great night sleep with pleasant dreams - knowing that these are the days that make up our most cherished memories - and memories last a lifetime.
